Jim Raycroft, Composer/Arranger Like most writers, I write for two reasons: I need it for something (or someone has requested it), or I have an idea in my head that needs to get out. In either case, I write from the soul. I let my training and experience guide me, but my instinct and inspiration is what drives the music. My Style Musically, my writing tends to be rich, lush and romantic (probably due to the fact that I myself am a hopeless romantic) or riding the groove. Music should always inspire, and that's what I strive for with everything I write. The format was intriguing - the music was all to be a cappella choral, which meant the arrangements had to be symphonic enough to hold up without accompaniment. The clip below was written to be under the Main Title sequence. It has since been expanded into a 16 page Choral Fantasy for a cappella chorus. Download File: christmas-sample.mp3 (2.39 MB) |
